The Germans and the French in Morocco

In 1908, Hafiz becomes Sultan. And the German foreign ministry seems to have taken that as a signal that the status quo wasn't going to last. Germany recognized France's special political interests in Morocco while France promised to safeguard economic equality and not hinder German commerce. So it's funny how these international diplomatic and military rivals could cooperate on plundering colonies.
