The History of the Corduroy Road

Billy Mahone was faced with a problem familiar to some listeners of this podcast, which is how to build something on the great dismal swamp. His solution is a corduroy road, which still forms the basis for it's a bunch of logs stacked on top of each other and then you put dirt on top. The Norfolk Southern Roadbed is still based on that corduroyRoad to this day.
