China had been ever since the end of the 19th century early 20th century a sort of articulation of China's sympathies with episodic contingents or sympathies with third-world peoples. Mao Zedong rule made these endeavors really became speech that they were announced out loud just now as you mentioned the kind of colonial effort to recognize where China stands in the world and who their brothers and sisters are.
