The Maitalean Revolt
A group of Maitalean envoys appealed to Sparta for help in their revolt against Athens. They argued that the war would not be decided in Attica, but in the Empire from where Athens' money came. After hearing this speech, the Spartans and their allies voted to accept the lesbians into their alliance,. And to attack Athens immediately in support of the revolt.
