leams: Machine learning is about using data to learn from the data that you have and n learn underlying patterns in your data. He says there's a tension between wanting more data to train better models, and storage concerns associated with actually trying to run efficient algritms for training these models. Leams worked on distributed computing at Berkeley before starting his own company called parkan. The project was part of an effort by Parkan to develop new tools so they could be used across different types of machines.
