Antiochus, Epiphanes, Desecration of the Temple

In 200 BC, the power balance shifts in Judea and Egypt doesn't have control anymore. The Syrians were led by this guy named Antiochus III and he conquers the Egyptian army. Everything seemed to be going good until about 168. He said about reversing all those changes and he is, I like to call him the Darth Vader of the intertestamental period. And it's in the context of this desecration of the temple that a lot of scholars look at the book of Daniel as textualized.
