i'm fascinated with the fact that the dynamic is so different to day than it was throughout military history. Where armies from centuries previously, i mean, alexander's army would have given many of the later armies. And when you have that amount of money, that amount of professionalism, basically anyone that you meet is likely to be defeated. The romans know that they always have the beating of the parthians. It's an absolute premise of roman military doctrine that, a, the romans never lose. So even if the germans wipe out some armies, or the judeans wiped out some armies,. the romans will come back and inflict devastating punishment.
