One of my great confusions in life is how little attention managers spend opportunity creation. In order to have this fat healthy balance pipeline, we need to divide our time and our attention salespeople need to focus across not just customers but deals in all phases of the sales cycle. I advocate the number one accountability question we should ask every month when we're in a pipeline review is what new did you create in the past 30 days from your proactive sales effort? What new opportunities did you create?
