The Benefits of Peer Support Workers
Dr. Vanderberg: Peer support workers give patients an opportunity to have a conversation with someone who's not on this hierarchy of nurse, doctor, clinical, social worker. Dr. Borgenvog: They're able to use what they were once judged for and turned it around to be empowering and helping the people that are in front of them. Ms. Bracho: We did a needs assessment so we created the program based on the needs of our own emerge.
