Will He Still Influence the Appointment of a Successor to Boris Johnson?
An outgoing leader does not endorse or campaign for any of the potential successors. But i think there are ways in which, you know, he and his camp can make known who they who they support. He could have arranged for a deputy prime minister to act as an interim PM. Technically that would have required the permission of the queen. There is quite a strong feeling among some sections of the party that really they need to persuade boris johnson to go now.
