The Power of Probability Theory in Reinforcement Learning
The reason for going deterministic was mainly pedagogical. It's like I've taught this course so many times and the students are so frustrated, because I'm making them learn about Markov chains. So being able to just get started out in a simple setting and expose the core ideas, it's so liberating. The power of stochastics is never, one of the most amazing demonstrations the power of probability theory is in reinforcement learning.
