The Anthropocene: A New Period of Extreme Warming

In the last few years, we passed the temperature record that was set 120,000 years ago. If we warm up one more degree, which will probably happen in another 50 years, the Earth will be the hottest it's been in 1.35 million years. People have done a lot of different projections on what that's going to mean for animals and plants. And they estimate something like between 15 to 40% of all species are going to get killed off.
