The Origins of Macaroni
The term macaroni predates the word pasta in Italian. It comes from ancient Greek macaria, which means something made from barley. In America, it macaroni and cheese popularized supposedly by Thomas Jefferson. But macaroni to us means elbow noodles. Elba noodles in Italian is go meaty. Go meaty. What does that mean?
