I think there is something special about feelings in that they can't be illusory. It's because the function of feeling is to tell you how, how you've shown about this, the situation. I'm very sympathetic with that but when it comes to feelings, there'sSomething special about feelings. You can't ever say that you have the illusion that you're in pain, or you have theillusion that you are depressed. If you're depressed, you're depressed. That's just because pain is what it is. And the patient says, well, I'm sorry, Doc, I am in pain. So I understand exactly. But he speaks of the user illusion of consciousness.
