The Relationship Between Ignorance and Desire
The Buddha talked of how ignorance and desire sort of revolve about one another as the conditioning causes of each other. Why is it that with one certain object, different people see it with different feelings? The feelings that we experience are the karmic results of past actions. They arise because of the contact. If there was no contact, the feeling wouldn't be there. But what the feeling is is a result of our past action.
