I'm in the same boat with you. There definitely is a camp out there who seem to think that everything needs to be open source everywhere, and I'm certainly not a part of that. And when it comes to even not malicious use, but to what you were saying about Chaos GPT, that seems like something that if the system has access to any sort of critical infrastructure that could plausibly be used for something nefarious or just turn out not so great. That seems like something you really want to restrict and lock down.
