The US national strategy to counter anti-Semitism was published in May 2023. It says that Jewish students and educators are targeted for derision and exclusion on college campuses, often because of their real or perceived views about the state of Israel. The document states: "We do so with a profound respect for our democratic traditions, including free expression and speech protected by the First Amendment"
