The Importance of Empathy in Leadership
SRP operated a coal generated plant on the Navajo Nation, Northern Arizona is called NGS Navajo Generating Station. Most of the folks that worked up there were plant operators and it's not that there are a lot of those jobs. So we decided as an organization to really leverage what we do well, which are apprenticeships for some of our employees at NGS. We launched our first IT apprenticeship in conjunction with that.
