The Evolution of Migration in the Late Bronze Age
Migrants from southern Bavaria showed up in the Alpine region of Tyrol, which had rich copper deposits. These newcomers probably moved there to mine and ship the copper on routes to the north. At least a quarter of the people buried in one cemetery were first-generation migrants. They are plausibly speakers of Celtic languages.
