In the Greek mythology, Narcissus is a man who was enamored with his own image. He would go and spend great amounts of time gazing at himself in this pond. And one day he began to isolate himself because he could not get close enough to himself. The moral of the story is the dangers of becoming so transfixed with one's own image that they lose touch with the world around them.
