The Six Stages of Coming Out

There's a very nice organic flow of coming out that just happens just to really lovely like, yes. But my guess is that that's not what happens for most people and that they have to be very careful or intentional about creating safety around coming out. So I use Vivian Cass' method. She's creating coined stages early on, which I kind of like. And often there's a very internal process of coming out comparison, identity confusion, well before it's ever said or acknowledged. For me, it was a lot of learning not to be me authentically, disconnecting. You have to disconnect from your authenticity in order to function in the world in the way that culture and society
