The Cripkey Semantics of Language

Two-dimensional semantics has another dimension to it, literally, infiguratively. People often cite Cripkey as some who taught us about this, but I think that's a misunderstanding of what Cripkey thought. There are two separate issues. One is an issue about the space of possibilities. That's a view in the metaphysics of modality. And I think it's a mistake. It should be regarded as completely non controversial. But my thing with a reply comes with a question: How do we explain iron bald?
