Oyo Tunji - The Return of the Eurobe Empire
In 19 70, oseman bought 11 acres of land and he and a few dozen followers packed up their hand stitched dachikes and moved to south carolina. Oyo is the name of an empire that existed in what is now nigeria between the fifteenth and nineteenth centuries. So these 11 acres were named oyo tunji to mean that the return of this great eurobe empire is right here in north America. Sugman believed that american life was failing africans, and he saw his village as a way for africa Americans to reconnect with their african heritage.
