Ulysses reads like an onion piece because he's so pissed off about the tiniest, most inconsequential things you can imagine. Or another one that's famous is the big black dot in some editions of Ulysses. In the edition I had, it was probably the size of the head of a nail. And Gobler publishes it simply as a period.
