The Bug-Facer Archetype

The bug-faceers survived as the only organic beings in the machine empire. The main reason for their retention remained unknown to this day. Some some men were reduced to the levels of cell cultures, useful for only gas exchange and waste filtering. Others were molded into completely artificial ecologies, baroque simulations that served only as entertainment. Be it as a tool, slave, or entertainment, humanity held onto its biological heritage while its machine cousins reigned supreme for an unbelievable 50 million years.
