Why Do the French Numbers So Funny?

Ludoven brock is a historian of modern europe and specializing in second wold war france. French numbers are different to english numbers because we use different counting systems. The reason we count in tens is because we have ten fingers. Another metr counting system based on the body is the vigicimal system, which is counting in twenties. And when you count in 20 swhat you're doing is you're counting with your ten fingers and your ten toes. It comes really, there's kind of important celtic influence in in france - that's probably where it comes from.
