The Connection Between Design and the Netherlands in the 1980s
A lesser known Cranbrook story is the connections to the Netherlands in the 1980s. This connection was the first contact with contemporary Dutch design in the United States that affected both graphic and product design. Andrew Blauveldt had a very good question that I don't know how to work into the flow of this conversation. So I'm just going to ask it to you now. He says, "What we looked at and thought of as postmodern work in Holland actually had a direct lineage back to their roots in the early 20th century"
