Why Are We Living in a Universe Like This?
In humans, they're interesting animals. They have a degree of rationality and autonomy that seems to outstrip the rest of the biological world. We live in a universe where there are significant consequences to our actions. Our rational self interest can often turn into selfishness and greed. In other words, humans are able to use their gift of free will to pursue falsehoods ugliness and wickedness.
