The Importance of Problem Based Learning
I think the most important thing is to conceptualize a strategy as a tool that a student uses to help construct meaning and be a good reader. I'm a real fan of problem based learning because that can supercharge your kids motivation and engagement, their self efficacy when they're reading not to answer comprehension questions, but to solve a problem. And then remembering that we don't read, except in school, to answer comprehension Questions, we read to do things, to accomplish things other than the reading that we're doing. Okay.
