The Churchill industry has managed to pull away that whole side of Churchill which was about crushing domestic dissent and domestic resistance. Now if you criticise Churchill, you're seen as being anti-British but actually in the 1940s he was hated. There are still people who nurture kind of bitter and burning hatred for the man. He had a ferocious contempt for the British working classes and for ordinary Britons. His last big act was encouraging the overthrow of an elected leader in Iran - Musadak.
