Sid was really meant for scenarios where you wanted to test the validation, but you didn't have a cluster to talk to. I always assumed it would be easier to use the client side for default. It's actually a bargat insident to have a connection to your claster in order to walk. Bicites make sense. But sometimes you don't want your sei machines to be connected to your cluster.
