What Is Community?

LZ Granderson: Jesus lived in community. He was not a sage up on a mountain with a white beard all alone, he basically lived in a mobile co-housing community and the call to follow him was at the same time a simultaneous call to join his community. LZ: Lots of people turn down Jesus's invitation with no guilt or shame from Jesus, but for a lot of people it was just too high a price. And as you would imagine, three got into regular conflict. Finally, the end goal of Jesus' community was to grow and mature his apprentices into people who were like him, who were pervaded by a heart of love and service.
