Bitcoin is being used for inscription purposes, or whatever you want to call it. This means there's more bids on base layer block space and fees are being driven higher as a result. More development on layer two leads to more of a build out of things like the lightning network,. And when you fund channels, you're basically locking Bitcoin into those lighting channels.
