If you're going to keep interacting with someone overtime, you're much more likely to co operate initially and then continue this tit for tat behavior. The danger comes in when you're like, driving and you cut someone off. You don't really think much about being an assal, and then you get Tit For Tat. So it's worth it to maintain a good relationship for that reason as well.
