Before industrial revolution, women worked on the family farm and it was communal. But when men went into factory work or into cities they had kind of there's a split. When women are young, they work, but the minute they have children that gets a whole lot trickier for them. And I was interested in how those two, an economic system and a system of production, let's say, if we put them as one and the political system. It radically altered women's position.
