The Role of Africans in the History of Guyana

Two of the other prominent Afro-Guyanese intellectuals of the 20th century were George G.M. James and Ivan von Sertima. Both men are famous for their work as Pan-Africanist historians, but Marxism is not part of their approach. While most of Guyana's population is not white, those of African descent are not in the majority.
