Fed Chair J-Pal: Is It a Dovish Rebuke?
The Fed doesn't want to over tighten now because then crash the economy and then come out on the other side and ease rates. So they're going to go gradually. They're going to watch what's happening in response to what they've already done so far. We think that they reach, be great, whatever that rate is in the first quarter. And then they stay there for the rest of the year, at least, to see that sustained improvement in inflation from a slightly restrictive policy stance.
