I Agree With You Completely on the Subject of Patriotism
Rudyard kipling and g k chesterton both praised patriotism. Lewis was quoting Kipling when he said, i would play tambourine with my toes on a street corner if i thought it would win one more soul to christ. Patriotism is something of an ambivent term. It's a mixture of different ideas and elements. The image that came to my mind was that it's rather like coffee or beer. But what it really is is that there were elements in what they received that they didn't like. And so i think h t o the rest of the day lewis spends any day looking at the full zosps fuller zosps
