The War in Ukraine One Year On
I think Putin spent the first five of his presidency trying to join the West. I don't believe that NATO expansion is what causes Putin to turn take this sort of, you know, more hostile turn than he does. The war in Ukraine has put Russia on a wartime footing and its factories are producing more tanks and ammo than they were before. So it may well be better prepared for a war 10 years hence than it would have been otherwise.
