In 2020 flash bots came on the scene and dramatically changed the game. Now transactions are sent privately directly to the miners themselves. It drastically changed the value accrual from searchers were making a ton of money before because they were keeping most of it. So now the miners, most of the value being generating, I think it was like 90% with it.
