The floodlight is a vigilance system that we take in more of a monitoring capacity. We're supposed to pay attention to our breath during a mindfulness of breathing practice, for example. But the awareness pieces really around the time frame. So this isn't about our tendencies of mind, but what is the actual occurrence of our state of awareness in that moment.
