The inflation rate for a typical retiree is less than the standard CPI because it's just less for somebody who's not working. If you are willing to rein in your housing, shelter expenses and transportation expenses those are 50 to 60 percent of how inflation is calculated. And that just having a ballpark estimate and then honing in as you get closer really makes the most sense.
