Shakespeare did not make up the plot line of romeo and juliet, nor of most of his plays. They were mostly mimicking or borrowing stories from folklore, from chronicles, historical chronicles. We like to imagine sh Shakespeare as this kind of this man who comes up out of obscurity among the people from his own individual drive and genius. This myth is really a liberal humanist myth, right? It's a myth that's very good for britain and british values,. And then also even more so for america, quint essentially individualist world.
