Marlene Zuck was looking for the Pacific Field Cricket in Hawaii. She noticed that something was off when she saw males walking on top of the lawn. A fly larva would burrow into a cricket, eat it from the inside out and kill the cricket. It turned out there were these sound orienting parasitic flies in Hawaii no one had ever known were there.
