Had radical reconstruction succeeded, it would have meant a political, economic, and social revolution in the South. Lonnie Davis is an interdisciplinary scholar and artist working in history and performance forms who teaches at the University of Wisconsin Madison. She went a Grammy for writing the liner notes for Aretha Franklin's boxed set The Atlantic Recordings.
