The Paradox of Cannibal Capitalism

The book takes its name from it, of course, cannibal capitalism. I'd love to know a bit more about why cannibalism is a metaphor that drew you to it as something that helps us understand what the earth is going on. When you have one enterprise or facility that is systematically strip mining, you could say others in order to right enlarge itself and thereby destroying the others. And then the last idea that I came across that I thought was useful was this kind of astronomical idea that a celestial object cannibalizes another celestial object when it draws into its orbit.
