Ada, Oklahoma, Was a Great Place to Live
The town of Ada, Oklahoma was a tight-knit community where people knew each other and looked out for each other. Since the 1950s, when Oklahoma started emptying out more oil and gas reserves than it was discovering, the town had mostly turned from oil to other industries that paid by the hour. People were no longer making overnight fortunes on oil, but the town was known nationally for horse breeding and for top-of-the-line horse sales.
