The Third Virtue Is Not Your Own Ego Enhancement
If your spirituality is in any sense making you climb, achieve, prove, perform, I think you have good reason to mistrust it. The mystery of the body of Christ has the face turned outward. It's not seeking your own ego enhancement, but the spiritual growth of others. That's a very Franciscan value and it overlaps with humility and overlaps with simple living.
