How to Relate to Gain in World Evangelization

Paul says to live his Christ and to die is gained. How do they relate? That's the question. And it doesn't, I don't think take any great exegetical skill, just take some thoughtfulness here to see the logical connection. Dying means for Paul more intimacy with Jesus.
