The Existential Presence of the Past, Future and Present

Some have argued that to exist is just to be present and to be present means really just to exist. Existence and being present mean that future and past things don't exist as it will be literally false to say that Caesar is crossing the Rubicon. Arguably, there is an existential presence to the present, which the other two lack. Finally, human beings only have direct experience of the present and it seems that the past and future are thought about as derivative from this.
